Description
The local authorities of Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, North Tyneside and South Tyneside have come together to form a new regional adoption agency – Adopt North East.
Adopt North East brings together expert staff from each local authority to allow them to collaborate more effectively and share their collective experience. This will help provide an adoption service to transform the lives of children and families for the better.
We will provide the following services:
- Recruitment and assessment of potential adopters
- Matching prospective adopters with children in need of adoption
- Post -adoption support
- Support and advice to all people affected by adoption
- Contact arrangements between adopted children and birth families
- Step parent adoption
- Inter-country adoption
