January 15 deadline for 2015 Pupil Premium registration
11 December 2014The Pupil Premium, additional government funding for disadvantaged pupils is available to schools or home educators where the place or provision is funded by the local authority. All children adopted in England or Wales – and living in England – are eligible to receive the £1,900 annual support from reception to Year 11.
To enable your child’s school to claim the pupil premium, you will need to provide supporting evidence, for example, the original Adoption Order. The deadline for this is January 15 2015 – the closing date for the annual School Census.
If you informed the school of your child’s adopted status for the January 2014 census, it should not be necessary to provide evidence again. If your child has moved schools, you will be required to register again as information is not transferable between schools.
