Description

Family Futures is an Adoption & Adoption Support Agency, awarded Outstanding by Ofsted and C4EO awarded for innovation and recognised as a centre of excellence.

We believe the key to success in adoption is Support, but it’s not just a buzz word to us – it’s in our DNA, that’s why we provide one of the most comprehensive support packages to adopters throughout their entire adoption journey.

As part of our adoption service, we provide access to an experienced Parent Mentor to be on hand to support and guide you through the process.

Our post adoption support is based on a Neuro-Physiological Psychotherapy approach (NPP) to the recovery of children that have experienced sustained trauma in the context of their birth family environment, has been influenced by the pioneering and leading research in neuro-science, attachment and practice in the field.

Parenting Back to Front parenting programme provides adopters with an understanding of the effects of early trauma and how this impacts on a child’s development. It also gives practical techniques and tools to help bring positive changes in their family life.

Our approach is neuro-sequential and integrative, incorporating Sensory Integration, Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy & Narrative Therapy.

Based on a detailed assessment, we would create a bespoke and comprehensive multi-disciplinary therapy programme, which covers the following areas:

  • The child’s level of traumatisation
  • Their attachment difficulties
  • Any health or developmental concerns
  • Therapeutic school interventions

All of these post adoption support services can be funded by the Adoption Support Fund and fall within the new proposed NICE guidelines on helping children with Attachment Difficulties.

Our service is renowned for it’s child focus and parent friendly approach. Family Futures regards parents as partners in a wrap-around therapeutic approach to helping adopted children achieve their optimum potential. For more information go to www.familyfutures.co.uk/adoption-support
